Okay so thanks to the idea for this goes to Addie
Its my newest fic. I only have one chapter so far but I would love to hear what you think of it.
All they wanted
Summary: All Addison wanted was a smooth and easy exit from Seattle. All Alex wanted was to find the woman he loves. All Derek wanted was an explanation…and all Meredith wanted was to run and hide. The last any of them wanted was to get stuck in such a small space together… [Addex, MerDer, possibly a bit Addek as well
Disclaimer: Okay so I don’t own Greys Anatomy. They way the show has formed lately I’m not sure I even want my name on it. But I do own a passion for writing and a much nicer way to end the season, lol.

1. We met one day in an empty elevator
“Caffeine…I need caffeine” Addison groaned as she leaned her body against the nurses station.
“They didn’t serve coffee at the wedding?” Olivia asked curiously.
“Don’t even ask” Addison placed the folder she was holding onto the counter. “My last case all done. Will you make sure the new doctor gets it?”
“Of course” Olivia sounded a bit confused about the woman’s reaction. Sure they weren’t friends or anything but she felt sorry for her, she looked drained of all energy and personality that usually pored right out of her. “So the wedding was not what you expected?”
“Ha” Addison let out a small laugh. “You mean the non wedding of doom” she saw the shock on the nurse’s face and decided to continue. “Burke was a no-show. Meredith and Derek had some weird thing going on between them and…oh did I mention the part where I threw away the only good thing about my life here…” she let out a deep sigh before she pulled herself up again. She straightened out her white coat and pushed a stray of red hair that had escaped the knot in her neck behind her ear. “I should get going.”
“Dr. Montgomery” Olivia called and Addison stopped and turned around. “You’ll be greatly missed around here” the younger woman gave her a wide smile before she grabbed the folder on the counter and went to file it where it belonged.
Addison stood there in the middle of the hallway for a moment until the ends of her lips crocked into a smile. “I think I will miss it here too…” she turned and headed for the elevator to get changed before she could leave.

Just one floor beneath Addison Alex was running down the corridor. He had spent the last half an hour spinning around that same corridor as well was the empty room that had once belonged to Ava. Actually it had belonged to Ava until just an hour or so earlier.
He had gone through the cursing for being stupid enough to run after her. He had gone through the denial part, she probably didn’t feel the same way for him anyway, right? And then it had hit him – like a lightening square into the chest. Did he love Ava?
He knew he liked her. She was sweet, and funny…and he could be relaxed around her. But he never had that ‘knees going weak’ feeling around her. And he never felt his words get stuck inside him and all thoughts fly out of his brain like he used to feel around…
No. He shook his head as he stopped by the elevator. That was just being crazy…
--
“Just stay by her okay!” Meredith felt her temper flaring up again. She knew it wasn’t Izzie’s fault but somehow it all just seemed too much. She pressed the cell phone between her shoulder and her ear as she reached out to open the door to the hospital. “Yes I know she is hysterical. Burke left her at the altar” she took a moment inside the doors to shake the rain from her hair before she went back to the conversation. “I will be right back. I just need to pick my purse. I forgot it here earlier…yes I think its worth getting it seeing as it has my keys, cards, money and my pager. After all I am still on call tonight.”
She walked through the lobby, passed the empty halls and to the elevators. She let Izzie talk on about how much she didn’t like being stuck alone with a woman who refused to talk to her.
“Seriously Iz, give me 30 minutes and I’ll be right back…” as she said that the lights above her flickered a few times before they went back to sending a steady light. “God this storm is creeping me out” Meredith sighed as she pressed the button to call for the elevator. “I’ll call you as soon as I get out of here, okay” she waited for her friend to reply and then closed her phone and let it slide down into the pocket of her coat.
The doors before her opened up and she stepped inside the small room and pressed for the right floor. With a sigh she leaned against the back wall and finally let herself relax.
She only made it one floor until the elevator stopped again and the doors slid open. She lifted her head only slightly but even though the locks of wet hair she spotted the sad look in his eyes. He seemed to doubt on if he should get in or not but just before the doors closed he took a step inside.
Derek kept his back to her and remained in the front of the elevator. She was the one who couldn’t commit. She was the one who broke up with him…or at least he thought that was what happened.
He was actually happy as the elevator stopped again and the doors opened. He was could have hugged Alex at the point but then again that wouldn’t help him much in the ‘stay cool’ department. So instead he sent Alex a nod as the younger man stepped inside.
The doors closed and the elevator once again began to rise and when it stopped again once floor away from the locker rooms Meredith couldn’t help but let out a deep sigh and check her watch. Beside her Alex moved closer. “So…how is she?” he whispered and hardly looked up as Addison entered the elevator as well.
“She’s in bad shape” Meredith answered. “Izzie is with her and George is on his way I think. I just need to grab some stuff from here and I will go and see her too.”
“That’s good” Alex nodded just as the floor underneath them started to shake.
“What was that?” Addison looked from Derek to the other two. The lights above them flickered for a few seconds before they steadied again.
“I don’t know” Derek answered.
“Probably just the storm” Alex added. “Shouldn’t be any problems” he just barely finished his sentence before the shaking came back and the lights went out completely.
“I don’t like this…” Meredith started but he was cut off as she felt the floor under her start to fall and the five floors they had taken such time to climb now soared by quicker then anyone could count…
