A/N; This story came up as me and my friend CJ were talking one day and I just asked ’If George breaks Callie will that make her run to Addie?’. So here we go, my way to try and make Callie feel a bit better then the writers of Greys seems to these days. Sorry if this story is not too nice on Izzie, but I’m on team Callie no matter what!
It’s just a one-shot but I hope you will like it…
I can make you laugh again
Summary: Only a very big chocolate cake and some crying can truly mend a broken heart. [Addison/Callie friendship

“It’s raining again” Addison Montgomery stated loudly as she stepped out of the elevator at the Oceanside Wellness center.
“I saw that” Dell, the receptionist answered with a smirk. It astonished him that the woman had not yet bought an umbrella and he couldn’t help but laugh as she made a trail of water on her way to her office.
“I hate the rain” Addison threw her bag into the chair before she proceeded to dump the soaked newspaper she had used for umbrella into the trashcan. She hardly had time to sit down in her chair before Dell pecked his head in.
“There is a woman at the front desk who claims to know you.”
“Patient?” Addison asked but Dell just shrugged and walked off.
“Great” Addison took a quick look in the small mirror on the wall only to realize she looked more like a drenched cat then a doctor. “It’ll have to do I guess” she sighed and left her office.
She walked across the entrance hall, receiving some mutterings from the janitor who had just finished mopping the floor. Addison however didn’t even think about apologizing to him as she saw the woman standing at the reception desk.
“Callie…sweetie what are you doing here?” she hurried forward but as Callie turned around Addison stopped. Her friend’s face was stained with tears and her eyes were red and puffy even though she had tried to hide it with make-up. “What happened?”
“George slept with Izzie” Callie exclaimed without sugarcoating anything.
“What?” Addison asked shocked. “Seriously?”
“Yes!” Callie cried. “And I couldn’t be there and deal so I went here” she added, clearly oblivious to the fact that Addison’s co-workers had started to gather around to get their peek of the action.
“Come on” Addison wrapped an arm over her friend’s shoulders. She sent a quick glance around the room until she found Naomi. “We are going to need that cake.”
“Of course” Naomi scattered away to her office to fetch the cake Dell had brought her that very morning.
“Let’s get somewhere we can talk, okay?”
“Okay” Callie let Addison lead her towards the lounge room in the back of the building. It was the same room where all doctors one time or another had ended up on the IKEA couches to think over their day.
“So how did you find out?” Addison asked carefully as she sat down next to her friend on the couch.
“I had the feeling…you know” Callie started just as Naomi walked in bearing a huge chocolate cake and with Violet, Pete and Cooper walking behind her. Callie sent them a glance and then looked t Addison who nodded. “Well you know how those interns are. Especially Izzie and George. Plus that woman hated me from the start.”
“I know” Addison said. “I guess I just never thought that George would cheat on you” she was still sounding shocked as she said it. “I mean its George!”
“Do you want us to leave?” Violet asked nicely. “Though I am a psychologist so maybe I could help?”
“Sure use your job to get to stay” Cooped mumbled. “That is not playing fair.”
“You can all stay” Callie sighed. “Just remember to hate George” she gave them one of her famous stares and they all nodded and sat down on the free couch.
“This is Callie” Addison realized she had yet to introduce them all. “We worked together in Seattle. And this is Naomi my friend from med school and then we have Violet, Cooper and Pete.”
“Pete?” Callie looked at the man and then to Addison. “The Pete?”
“You’ve been talking about me?” Pete asked as a coyly smile spread over his face.
“Focus here” Addison cried. “We were hating George.”
“And Izzie. Don’t forget about that skinny blonde man stealer” Callie added as she grabbed one of the forks from the table and dug out a big piece of the chocolate cake.
“Yeah I never really liked her” Addison leaned back in the couch and watched her friend eat. “Not since that whole Denny incident.”
“Yes!” Callie stopped eating and pointed her fork out at Addison. “She is a murderer. George won’t know what hit him.”
“Wait this Izzie, she killed someone?” Cooper asked as he finally saw a part of the conversation that he could be interested in.
“Yeah she fell in love with a patient and cut his L-Vad” Addison shrugged. “It was all very confusing but he died.”
“She cut his…” Naomi started but she stopped as Addison shot her a stern look. “Right not the point.”
“So how did it all happen?” Addison asked.
“Apparently there was alcohol involved” Callie sighed. “And it wasn’t like it was yesterday either. It was a long time ago, before the non wedding.”
“And he didn’t tell you?” Addison stated. “Maybe it was just a mistake? After all he stayed with you all this time.”
“No, he was scared” Callie huffed. “He loves her and she loves him and it’s all so sugar sweet and disgusting.”
“You’re better of without him” Addison said. “You can have any man you want. You don’t need some boyish intern.”
“You’re one to talk” Addison laughed for the first time since she got there.
“Addison had something with an intern?” Pete asked interested.
“Addison got dumped by an intern” Addison said and the mere thought caused her to dig into the cake as well.
“The same intern that is now moping around in Seattle” Callie said. “Not even Lexie Grey could make him happy again after you left.”
“He went after a Grey?” Addison took a bigger piece of cake. “God I drive men to Grey women. That’s pathetic.”
“We’re both pathetic” Callie leaned back in the couch and the room fell silent.
After Naomi, Violet, Pete and Cooper had excused themselves to see patients Addison and Callie sat there for a minute or two before Callie started to shake and the tears came. She had held it together for so long now that it all just broke. “Why did he do this to me?”
“Sweetie…” Addison was quick to pull her friend into a hug. “People cheat but that doesn’t always mean they do it to hurt you. And I really doubt George ever wanted to hurt you, he may say he loves Izzie but he loved you too.”
“Thanks” Callie dried off the tears from her face but more just kept coming. “I’m sorry. I’m messing up your shirt.”
“That’s okay. The rain messed it up earlier” Addison laughed as she let her hand go through Callie’s hair to sooth her. “And never apologize to me again for crying. Do I need to remind you who it was that almost kicked down the door to the bathroom stall back in Seattle?”
“That’s true” Callie moved out of her friend’s embrace and once again tried to wipe her tears away. “I just wish the pain would go away…that I could beat him up.”
“You know…” Addison looked out though the glass door. “I think I may have the second best. Wait here” the redhead hurried on her feet and left the room.
Callie could see her talking to Pete about something but instead of figuring out what her friend was up to she turned her focus back on the chocolate cake. She managed to get down several more bites before a very happy Addison came back.
“Pete has a patient for you…” Addison smiled widely. “Fell like cracking some bones?”
“That’s why you’re my best friend” Callie got up and left the cake behind. “You know just how to cheer a girl up.”
“I do my best” Addison replied. “But then you’re leaving Los Angeles, right?”
“Why? Want me gone?” Callie asked with that was obviously a fake hurt tone.
“No…but I saw you eyeing my Pete” Addison joked and for the second time that day Callie found herself laughing.
It’s just a one-shot but I hope you will like it…
